6th SiLC Meeting - Torino

Physics Bldg., Via Giuria 1, Torino

Welcome:

SiLC The SiLC Collaboration is an international R&D collaboration that is pursuing to develop the next generation of Silicon tracking systems.

Objectives

The R&D objectives are on the three main items:

  1. Sensors
  2. Electronics
  3. Mechanics

It gathers the efforts of teams that have pioneered this detector technology and that are or have been instrumental in constructing the main Silicon tracking systems of outstanding HEP experiments. It intends to pursue the important R&D work achieved for the LHC on this items as well as the Tevatron.

A proposal was presented at the PRC-DESY in May 2003 and a status report at the same committee in May 2005. The aim is to apply this technology for the International Linear Collider also in synergy with the upgrades of the tracking for LHC.

For those of you that could not came to Torino, we plan to retransmit the sessions by VRVS, and also allow the possibility of giving remote presentations by the use of VRVS and two simultaneus computers and projectors.
